Luminox Watches

If you're looking for reliability and durability, why not choose the same watch the Navy SEALS strap onto their wrists? Luminox was founded by Richard Timbo and Barry Cohen when they discovered an illumination technology that was being produced by a Swiss manufacturer and suggested it be incorporated into a line of watches. They negotiated an exclusive relationship to use the technology in North America. The result? The birth of the world's most luminous timepiece collection. They registered the name Luminox, but sales were initially slow - that is, until a procurement officer for the United States Navy SEAL teams contracted Luminox to build a dive watch to use on night missions. The Navy SEAL dive watch launched in 1994. Since then thousands of the original plastic model were sold and in 1999, the company designed its first steel version of the watch. In 2000 it added an all-steel series and an all-titanium series.

A Luminox watch will exceed all your expectations: These watches, with their unique self-powered illumination system that is guaranteed for 10 years, provide the ultimate in rugged and dependable design, in an eye-catching package. A variety of Luminox watches are desirable and unique with their micro gaslights installed into the hour markers and bezels. This feature means that no external light source is required to charge the paint on the dial or hands - and no buttons are required to light the dial. All Luminox watches are entirely Swiss-made with multi-jewel Swiss quartz watch movements. In addition to its popular Navy SEAL watch, Luminox offers field and dress versions.
